this months advertising tip - boosting your direct mail success

When you spend your advertising dollars on a direct mail piece, you want to be sure to get your moneys worth. Good design is part of that, and I can help you come up with a winning design. But there are other steps you can take to make sure and boost your responeses.

Make sure your brochure has a clear purpose. That purpose is usually a way that your business or service can help the recipient of your direct mail piece. Stick to that purpose throught the piece. Though its tempting to list all your services, your are better served by giving great detail on the one area that you are trying to get them interested in. Focus on that one area and use design and images that fit that focus.

Mail the same item to different titles throughout the company. In large companies, it often takes more than one person to make a decision. Make sure to address all the people in a company who may be part of the decision making process. You may even want to refine your piece for each department to get everyone on board.

Be sure to include complete information. Business decisions take time. Make sure your mailing gives complete details on why your product or service will work for your target. If your direct mail piece is sucessful, your target will look further into your company. Direct mail is a way to start a conversation with prospective clients. A successful mailing doesnt always end in a sale, sometimes its the start of getting someone interested in your company.
